D’Arcy has been creating metal sculpture since 2002. He has taken an
unorthodox route in developing his craft. He began taking metal
working classes at the Creative Arts Center in Dallas, Texas where
he learned metal working techniques from his mentor Daniel Sellers
M.F.A. Soon he acquired a small studio where he spent all his spare
time refining, expanding and developing his technique of subtractive
fabrication and his work with steel pipe.
Most early sales and exposure came through various group shows,
occasional commissions, a cooperative gallery, and considerable
hustle. In 2007, in search of personal and professional change
D’Arcy moved to Aspen, Colorado. He currently shows his work at The
Aspen Gallery at Highlands. D’Arcy is actively seeking Gallery
representation outside of the Roaring fork Valley.
Prior to beginning his sculpture career in 2002, D’Arcy’s
professional focus was a career in the Kitchen and Bath industry.
Fifteen years in the business world have given D’Arcy a solid
foundation in design, installation, marketing, and sales.
D’Arcy received his B.A. from Valparaiso University and his M.B.A.
from the University of South Florida. |
